Petition to Protest Mistreatment of Classified Workers
SEIU 1021 is distributing a petition protesting mistreatment of classified workers by Ellen Rayz, the head of IT at CCSF. SEIU has received reports that Rayz has tried to undermine union power by hiring unrepresented workers instead of SEIU members, and that her treatment of classified staff in IT has been unacceptable.
AFT stands in solidarity with our SEIU siblings as they challenge AVC Rayz and hold our administration accountable for their behavior towards all employees. Administration must adhere to our labor contracts in good faith.
SEIU invites faculty as well as classified staff to view and sign the petition.

Petition: Support your IATSE Labor Siblings in Bargaining a Fair Contract
After months of negotiating successor contracts to the Producer-IATSE Basic Agreement, and the Theatrical and Television Motion Picture Area Standards Agreement, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), which represents major film and television production companies, announced it does not intend to make any counteroffer to the IATSE’s most recent proposal. Join us in telling AMPTP to make a fair deal with film and television workers! Sign the petition HERE.
(Deadline extended to 9/30) Comment on Evans Campus Study
On 9/14, we reported that CCSF appears to be getting ready to move the AMT program to the Evans Campus. College administration must do right by the AMT students who have been left out in the cold for a year and half now, but we have serious concerns about the lack of community input, potential toxins and noise pollution, and the potential for disruption of other Evans Campus programs.
The District has posted an initial study and “mitigation monitoring” document about environmental impacts. It addresses only impacts of the move itself. There is no mention of how the ongoing AMT classes would impact other Evans Campus programs or the neighboring community. At the Evans Campus forum on 9/1, the District said that if we knew of anything else requiring mitigation, they would like to hear about it by email. The public has until 9/22/21 to comment on the study.
Here are the details:
- Initial Study
- Mitigation Monitoring & Reporting Program
- Email your public comment to: facilities@ccsf.edu by 5:00 pm on 9/30/21
- The Evans Forums page has all these links and more.
