Upcoming AFT 2121 elections: timeline and eligibility rules

It has been almost two years since our last Union election. Elections for Union officers, Executive Board, delegates, and precinct reps will take place this Spring according to the timeline adopted by the AFT Delegate Assembly on Jan. 21. Nominations are due by the March 24, 2020 General Membership meeting and ballots will be sent out by April 20, 2020. The term of office is June 1, 2020 to May 30, 2022.

Members who have been laid-off or who are on unpaid leave can remain in “good standing” and eligible to vote by paying $5.00 per month “on leave” dues.

Our Election Commission Chair, Kathleen Duffy, will be seeking volunteers to help with the ballot mailout and the vote counting later this semester.
