For nearly six months, Macy’s Union Square workers have been at the bargaining table with management in an attempt to negotiate a new contract to address the mounting economic inequity that retail and other service sector workers face in our city. Unaffordable health care is the key issue. UFCW-represented Macy’s workers have been given no choice but to prepare for a possible strike. In response, Macy’s recently flew 350 potential strike-breakers into the area. On November 7, Macy’s will celebrate a “Grand Reopening” of the Union Square Store in preparation for the holiday shopping season. Join UFCW members in a march and rally outside the store.
PLACE: MACY’S UNION SQUARE MAIN ENTRANCE DATE: NOVEMBER 7, 2019 TIME: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
As hotel, health care and other workers have said before us – One Job Should Be Enough!
