9/17, DA & COPE | 9/19, Protest hefty Admin raises | 9/21, Dean Preston | more…

(9/19) Tell CCSF Trustees’ Budget Committee: “Fund Education Not Administration.”

Last week, more than 200 faculty, students, labor allies, and community members gathered at Conlan Hall, dressed in red AFT 2121 members, for a powerful action protesting Chancellor Rocha’s exorbitant raises for top administrators. These massive raises come on the heels of layoffs, cuts to library services and reassigned time, and over 100 class cancellations. We will not accept this!

What’s next?

As a result of our powerful response, our first demand has already been met: the Board Budget Committee has scheduled a public meeting for Thursday, Sept. 19, at 9am at the Chinatown Campus room 402 to discuss the raises. We urge all faculty to attend and be seen visibly wearing #RedForEd. Stand with us to show Trustees how much we value putting students’ education before administration. To join us, please RSVP and share or call Athena at 415-585-2121.

Our remaining demands:

  • the reversal of the raises
  • the re-direction of funds toward classes, counseling, and library services.
