No cuts – Send a letter to Trustees | Thurs – #RedForEd t-shirt day & action

Last Friday, we wore #RedForEd, held signs, sang protest songs, and danced together to demonstrate our united opposition to even more lost classes and in protest of chronic and deliberate underfunding of education that plagues our city, our state, and our country.
What’s next:

1) Send a letter to the Board of Trustees now to protest the cuts!

2) This Thursday, 8/22 we will attend the BOT meeting with an encore to continue expressing our opposition to the downsizing of our college! Please plan to join us on Thursday at 3:30 outside of Conlan Hall. Sign up to join the action.
Board of Trustees Action Schedule:

  • All day – Wear your red AFT 2121 T-shirt (or any red shirt).
  • 3:30 pm – Gather and practice your dance moves outside of Conlan Hall
  • 4pm-  Dance and make noise with protest songs about the cancellations in the hallway outside of Conlan 101 as trustees arrive, stay for public comment beginning as early as 4:30pm.
  • After closed session- Stay and join us for AFT 2121 President Jenny Worley’s report to the Board of Trustees where we will be highlighting the story of a particular class cancellation that has damaged the educational opportunities of students.
On Friday August 23rd, at 1:30pm a Mission Campus (Room TBA, look for signs) the Part-time Committee will be hosting a special meeting/open discussion on fighting cuts. The Part-time Committee invites all CCSF workers and students to attend.
