(Thurs. 2/21) Support our fellow Oakland Education Association educators!
OEA members are on strike fighting for racial justice and the schools their students deserve!
- Tomorrow, 2/21 at 11:30AM, join our AFT 2121 contingent at the OEA strike rally at Oakland City Hall (Frank Ogawa Plaza). Look for AFT 2121 leader Tim Killikelly and our AFT 2121 banner.
Can’t join the rally?
- The most important action folks can take is to sign up and support the picket lines.
- Donate to the OEA Membership Assistance Fund. OEA has set up a fund to provide financial support to assist their most vulnerable members in the event of a prolonged strike. The CFT is already in the process of donating to the fund, and we ask that you consider doing the same.
- Donate to Bread for Ed: Bread for Ed is an effort to provide food for those students and teachers who won’t have access to such resources if they stay out as a result of the strike. There are 37,000 students in the district, the vast majority of whom depend on free or reduced priced lunches.

AFT 2121 is working with Supervisor Gordon Mar’s office to create a partnership with city College of San Francisco and the San Francisco Unified School District to explore expanding CCSF classes to the Sunset neighborhood. Bringing City College classes to the Sunset District will help us meet the educational needs of the Sunset District and other Westside residents.
Join AFT 2121 and Supervisor Gordon Mar for his second neighborhood Town Hall, focused on the plan to bring City College of San Francisco to the Sunset. Join us to hear updates about the plan, discuss potential class offerings, and share your ideas for how we can make the most of City College Sunset.

WHEN: 12:00pm – 1:30pm, Sunday Feb. 24th

(Tues. 2/26) AFT 2121 Delegate Assembly
All AFT 2121 members are urged to attend our next Delegate Assembly on Tuesday, 11/26 from 3-5PM at Chinatown Campus, room 504. The ongoing class cancellations and cuts to the schedule are a growing crisis. Our AFT 2121 rank-and-file leaders will be continuing our work to analyze the power structures we are up against and do concrete turnout for upcoming actions.

The Redstone building is a low-cost space for grassroots groups and is at risk as gentrification fuels a speculative deal for this historic labor temple.
Right now it functions as a community center, with unions like the United Taxicab Workers, community groups like the Western Regional Advocacy Project, and media like POOR magazine. These organizations need to continue being able to operate in one of the last affordable spaces in the Mission if they are to continue serving 50,000 city constituents each year.
How you can help:
- Join the Redstone Building forum on Wednesday, 2/27 from 6-9pm at 2940 16th St.
- Sign the petition to save the Redstone labor temple.
