In recent weeks, faculty have been expressing concern over rumors that the already reduced Spring class schedule would be further slashed over the Winter break. Last night, AFT 2121 communicated these concerns to Chancellor Rocha in an open letter, asking that he issue a moratorium on class cancellations over the break.
Today, the Chancellor responded directly to AFT 2121, agreeing not to cancel any classes over the winter break. He also suggested a post-break meeting between AFT leaders and administration to discuss plans for growth and for saving currently low-enrolled classes.
We are pleased with this decision, and hope this information will allow faculty a restful winter break. We wish all of you Happy Holidays.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Worley
