A Balanced 2014 Budget for the People of California

Californians are paying a staggering price due to the Great Recession and its legacy of cuts to the most vital of government services. Nearly $37 billion in cuts since 2007! From our public education and health care systems to vital safety-net services, massive disinvestment is preventing economic growth, forcing our most vulnerable people to endure needless pain, and permanently damaging future prospects for our children.

There are real choices in the proposed 2014-15 state budget. In order to build a stronger future for all Californians, we need to invest in the people and communities of our state. A fiscally responsible state budget for 2014-15 uses new revenues provided by California voters and economic growth to begin to refund and reinvest in core services and public education.

It is Time to Reinvest in Californians’ Public Education, Health, and Human Services!
