California Burning

Many of us have family or friends who have been affected by the North Bay fires. We have faculty, staff, and students who live in Santa Rosa and surrounding communities dealing with the tragedy. While there has been a lot of news coverage of the destruction wrought by these fires, a lot of people who have evacuated are in limbo as to the state of their homes and communities. Our hearts go out to all who are affected.

If you need help or resources the California Federation of Teachers wants to help

Financial assistance for our members may be available to those who have been impacted. Please contact CFT Deputy Executive Director Sarah Callahan at (510) 523-5238orscallahan@cft.org.

If you live in an area that is at risk of fire, text your zip code to 888777 in order to receive emergency alerts such as notices to evacuate.
